Olivia Colman steps into the boots of Claire Foy to bring Britain into a new decade, and "The Crown" into a new season. Season 2 ended with the birth of the fourth and final child of the Queen, Prince Edward, in the event you don't remember. The third season starts in 1964 with a new guard sweeping into Downing Street, challenging the Royal Family with a rapidly changing Britain. Joining Colman are Tobias Menzies taking up the Prince Philip mantle left by Matt Smith, Josh O’Connor as Prince Charles and Helena Bonham Carter replacing Vanessa Kirby as Princess Margaret. Because no one respects Olivia Colman’s treasured tea-time, she’ll have to deal with Cold War paranoia, the liberated ‘60s, the rise of those boys from Liverpool (The Beatles), the one and only time that England won the soccer World Cup in 1966 (It is finally coming home! On a period-drama). The trailer also glimpses at the rivalry between the Queen and Princess Margaret, who still plays second fiddle to her sister. The third season has not even premiered, but the Netflix show is already shooting its fourth season, which will feature the same actors as season 3, with the addition of Gillian Anderson as Margaret Thatcher, and Emma Corrin as Lady Diana Spencer. Will the Queen make it out okay? Will England win the World Cup? Who will Prince Charles marry? What will happen with the Cold War? Who knows, but you can find out when the new season of “The Crown” arrives on Netflix on November 17. Watch the trailer below:
