Bloodshot’ Trailer: Vin Diesel Becomes A Superhuman Killer In Sony’s & Valiant Comics First Superhero Feature. You hear the words "killing machine" and Vin Diesel ("Fast & Furious" series), you don't bat an eyelid. Diesel and the action genre really go hand in hand, well here he goes back to another similar role when he makes his own "Bloodshot" feature film debut in Valiant Comics.

The project is being directed by Dave Wilson, and will serve as his first feature film as a director. Wilson has been apart of many projects, such as a creative supervisor during “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” and has directed many cinematic trailers for video games, including EA’s “Mass Effect 2” and Ubisoft’s “The Division.” He will find doing a feature-length film to be a different kettle of fish compared to a two to a three-minute game trailer.

We know about the past of Diesel when it comes to superhero movies, he stars as Groot in Marvel's own "Guardians Of The Galaxy" (all tree variations that can only say three words) and is part of the huge Cinematic Universe (the MCU) superhero of Disney and Marvel. It looks like he is about to be a part of another, if Sony can get their way.

Here is the synopsis:

Quote
After he and his wife are murdered, Marine Ray Garrison (Vin Diesel) is resurrected by a secret team of scientists. Enhanced with nanotechnology, he becomes a superhuman, biotech killing machine – Bloodshot. As Ray first trains with fellow super-soldiers, he cannot recall anything from his former life. But when his memories flood back and he remembers the man that killed both him and his wife, he breaks out of the facility hellbent on revenge, only to discover that there’s more to the conspiracy than he originally thought.

The film is scheduled to come out on February 21, 2020. Watch the new trailer below.

It seems Sony is trying to start up their own superhero cinematic universe, when back in 2015 they signed a five-picture deal with Valiant to bring their superheroes to the big screen, they wanted to create the VCU. They had been hoping to have a shared universe with “Bloodshot” being a part of the same universe as the “Harbinger” characters, however, they have recently lost that IP to Paramount Pictures.

There was also talk of having a film based on plus-sized female hero Faith Herbert which Sony had in production, although considering she is a main part of the Harbingers, it looks unlikely she will get a film with Sony.

It would be a shame to not have something that properly rivals the MCU and the DC universe but it seems Sony are putting all their efforts into “Spider-Man,” “Jumanji” and “Ghostbusters.” Perhaps the VCU may one day become fruition and a deal between Paramount and Sony may allow for one to happen.

Bloodshot” will co-star Sam Heughan (“Outlander”), Eiza González (“Baby Driver”), Toby Kebbell (“Fantastic Four”) and Guy Pearce (“Memento”).
