The trailer, though, doesn’t hint toward much tonally— keeping it a bare-bones genre trailer. Hopefully, 20th Century Fox is just trying to market toward the franchise’s fan base first. If you’re looking for that crisp wit Shane Black is known for, the trailers, unfortunately, don’t deliver on that, so far. In a recent interview, though, cast member Keegan Michael-Key said the beginning of the film is like “the six stooges” and it was “an absolute riot to do.” From a plot standpoint, not too much is known about this installment in the ‘Predator’ series. According to the synopsis, the predator species is roving around the universe in the interest of getting bigger and stronger – using DNA from other species. “The Hunt Has Evolved,” is the tagline that reads just before the reveal of the newest, genetically modified Predator. Predator fans can get excited about this massive badass. As for the humans, the characters are largely a “ragtag crew of ex-soldiers.” All in all, the trailer is just one minute long, which leaves you looking forward to a full-length trailer that will hopefully give some more insight into the film. “The Predator” has an awesome cast, with Boyd Holbrook (“Narcos,” “Logan”), Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes (“Moonlight“), Keegan-Michael Key, Thomas Jane (“The Punisher”), Jacob Tremblay(“Room”) and Sterling K. Brown. Here’s the official synopsis: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race. “The Predator” hits theaters September 14.
