As literate readers have pointed out, A Bandersnatch is a fictional creature in Lewis Carroll’s 1872 novel “Through the Looking-Glass” and his 1874 poem “The Hunting of the Snark.” “Bandersnatch” stars Asim Chaudhry, Will Poulter and Fionn Whitehead from Christopher Nolan’s “Dunkirk.”
Earlier this year, word leaked that the producers of “Black Mirror” were working with Netflix on its latest “Chose Your Adventure” technology that would allow viewers of the series to choose multiple outcomes for its episode. How’s it going to work? Will it work? Well, we’ll find out soon enough.
Directed by David Slade (“30 Days of Night,” “Hard Candy” and many excellent episodes of NBC’s “Hannibal” and “American Gods”), “Bandersnatch” is set in 1984 and centers on a young programmer makes a fantasy novel into a game. Soon, reality and the virtual world are mixed and start to create confusion. Slade also directed the “Black Mirror” season four episode “Metalhead.”
“Black Mirror: Bandersnatch” hits Netflix on December 28 2018. Surprise!
