James Cameron Confirms Edward Furlong Will Appear In ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’

Taking a stage back and thinking about what that implies, there are extremely just two choices that exist for how Furlong may show up in 'Dim Fate.' obviously, these may be spoilers, however I'm putting together this with respect to good judgment and no thought how the genuine plot of the film will go.

To start with, there's the self-evident — Furlong just appears as a grown-up John Connor and proceeds with his story. Yakkity yak. In any case, wouldn't that be something that would have been reported beforehand? On the off chance that Furlong is returning as a grown-up, that is nearly as large of news as Linda Hamilton returning as Sarah Connor. Not just that, he would have without a doubt appeared in the trailer.

If you’re a big ‘Terminator’ fan, you probably watched the recent trailer for “Terminator: Dark Fate” and noticed the absence of someone pretty vital to the story — John Connor. Of course, in the subsequent sequels to James Cameron’s “T2,” the character has appeared quite often. But in ‘Dark Fate,’ which is said to erase the other sequels and pick up right from ‘T2,’ the fact that John Connor isn’t seen is a bit strange, right?

Well, according to Cameron himself, Edward Furlong, who played John in “T2,” will show up in ‘Dark Fate.’ Of course, he doesn’t explain when or in what capacity Furlong appears, but the film will acknowledge John Connor in some way.

So that leaves the second option, which is likely the truth — John Connor is dead. As mentioned, the trailer is sans John Connor, and there has yet to be any talk of the character’s involvement in the story. Plus, just recently, Hamilton said Sarah Connor “has a thirst for vengeance” in ‘Dark Fate.’ Putting 2 and 2 together, and you’re left with the fact that it’s likely that sometime between “T2” and ‘Dark Fate,’ John Connor met his premature demise.

This leaves the appearance of Furlong as a flashback. And honestly, it wouldn’t be too difficult to find some previously unused footage from “T2” and insert it into ‘Dark Fate’ as a “new appearance.”

We’ll have to wait until November 1, when ‘Dark Fate’ opens in theaters, to know the truth. Actually, what will likely happen first is that the studio will spoil the reveal in a trailer for the upcoming ‘Terminator’ sequel.
