After producing Spike Lee’s “BlacKkKlansman” (which will most likely pick up a number of Oscar nominations, including Best Picture), as well as preparing for a number of shows under Monkeypaw Productions (including the CBS All Access reboot of “The Twilight Zone”), Peele is jumping back into the director’s chair for his second feature, “Us,” which has its first trailer out. You can read the synopsis below, which seems to put Peele’s now-signature twist on the home invasion genre, much as he flipped the archetypes of “The Stepford Wives” for “Get Out.” A mother (Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o from Black Panther, Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 12 Years a Slave) and a father (Winston Duke from Black Panther) take their kids to their beach house expecting to unplug and unwind with friends (including Emmy winner Elizabeth Moss from TV series The Handmaid’s Tale). But as night descends, their serenity turns to tension and chaos when some shocking visitors arrive uninvited. “US” arrives in theaters on March 15, 2019. You can watch the new trailer below.
