‘The Lodge’ Trailer - Riley Keough Stars In An Icy Horror From The Makers Of ‘Goodnight Mommy’. The introduction of the wintry, atmospheric horror "The Lodge" is perfectly timed, considering that we just ran features on 52 Women Directed in 2020 and our 25 Most Anticipated Films This year at Sundance. Directed by Austrian filmmakers Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala.

Written by Fiala, Franz and Sergio Casci, the film stars Riley Keough, Richard Armitage, Alicia Silverstone, Jaeden Lieberher, Lia McHugh and centers on the horror of family in a “The Shining” like setting, but even icier in unsettling atmosphere.  The film centers on a soon-to-be stepmom (Keough) who is snowed in with her fiancé’s two children at a remote holiday village. Just as relations begin to thaw between the trio, some strange and frightening events take place.

Here’s the official synopsis:

A bone-chilling nightmare from the directors of GOODNIGHT MOMMY, THE LODGE follows a family who retreat to their remote winter cabin over the holidays. When the father (Richard Armitage) is forced to abruptly depart for work, he leaves his children, Aidan (IT’s Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh) in the care of his new girlfriend, Grace (Riley Keough). Isolated and alone, a blizzard traps them inside the lodge as terrifying events summon specters from Grace’s dark past. 

NEON, now known as the studio that’s had massive Oscar nomination success with “Parasite,” will release “The Lodge” in theaters on February 7. Watch the new trailer below.
