Arthdal Chronicles, often referred to as the Korean Game of Thrones, has become one of the best K-dramas of all time, thanks to its intricate storyline and actors that played the characters to near perfection. While many people did not watch the series at first, once they learned that it starred the actor Song Joong Ki, who previously appeared in Descendants of the Sun, A Werewolf Boy, and The Battleship Island, the drama's popularity skyrocketed.

Arthdal Chronicles was released in three parts in 2019: Part 1: The Children of Prophecy, Part 2: The Sky Turning Inside Out, Rising Land, and Part 3: The Prelude to All Legends. Although the Korean drama industry is well-known for diving into historical topics, there is no drama quite like Arthdal Chronicles, and fans have been waiting for the second season ever since the previous one concluded. In light of that, here is everything we know about the upcoming season of Arthdal Chronicles.

The first season of Arthdal Chronicles introduced us to Arthdal, a fictional kingdom set in the Bronze Age. Eun Seom was born and was thought to bring disaster to Arthdal, which caused him, along with his mother, to face many hardships until he was able to settle within the Wahan tribe thanks to his mother's sacrifice. However, when the Arthdal kingdom expanded, the people of the Wahan tribe were imprisoned as slaves, bringing Eun Seom down the path of his prophecy.

Much has transpired in the prequel, including the introduction of Eun Seom's twin brother Saya, who was raised by Arthdal's ruler Ta Gon, and his wife Tae Al Ha, who is hellbent on getting revenge on her husband for killing her father. On the one side, Ta Gon has deceived the people of Arthdal and self-proclaimed himself as Aramun Haesulla, while on the other hand, Eun Seom has finally reunited the tribes that Ta Gon has oppressed.

The second season will include one of the drama's most anticipated moments: an epic battle between Ta Gon and Eun Seom, with one fighting for power and the other for freedom. While there is no official trailer for the series, we can very much predict what will happen in the second season. Tanya, for instance, has become the great mother of Asa Sin after fulfilling her prophecy, but she still clearly longs to see Eun Seom, and the drama teases a possible love story between her and Saya.

Meanwhile, Tae Al Ha may team up with Eun Seom to take down Ta Gon while gathering more allies to topple Ta Gon's reign. The plot will apparently take place eight years after Ta Gon becomes King of Arthdal, so we expect some exciting situations in the upcoming season.

Arthdal Chronicles Season 2: Release Date - Season two of Arthdal Chronicles, titled "Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon," will premiere on Netflix on Sept. 9 and will consist of twelve episodes, each airing on a weekly basis.
