THE BOYS: SEASON 4 begins on Prime Video, including the first three (of eight) episodes. If you've been a fan of the series so far, you'll be delighted with the latest season.

It's also a good idea to have watched the spin-off Gen V so you can keep up with everything. Not required, but strongly encouraged. As always, anticipate this season to be gory, violent, outrageous, and full of surprises. Oh, yes, wilder than ever!

With season 4 of The Boys, we're in a world on the verge of complete chaos. Supes (those with superhero abilities) are divided into two groups: those who want to coexist with "regular" humans and those who want to dominate.

Victoria Neuman is somewhere in the middle, but she is clearly hungry for power. As Vice President-elect, she is on the verge of ascending to the presidency.

However, she is repeatedly pressed by Homelander to consolidate his power. As with Homelander (continuously represented masterfully by Antony Starr), things escalate quickly. He is always changing his mind and acting on impulse!

It's terrible, but it also creates a plot full of surprises. And, certainly, shocks do occur frequently.

The “Do Not Reveal” spoilers listed for each episode [they come with the screeners we receive to write this review] are long. And you have a lot of shockers in store!

On the other side of the battle, we meet Butcher (Karl Urban), who has done a lot of harm to himself by using V to get temporary abilities in Season 3. He now has a big brain tumor and a few months to live. Within that time, he hopes to make things right.

His commitment to protect Becca's son, Ryan, has failed, since Ryan is now with Homelander (his biological father). Furthermore, he is no longer the leader of "The Boys". For the record, this ensemble also comprises the girls Kimiko and Starlight. Two powerful Supes!

Mother's Milk is now the leader, but he is also dealing with numerous personal troubles. Including his daughter's stepfather, who is a huge Homeland fan.

Yikes! Still, the entire team of The Boys must find a way to work together if they want to save the world.

In The Boys Season 4, you’ll hear lines spoken that are direct quotes of real-life politicians. Not just once or twice, but several times and in ways that highlight just how crazy they sound.

Now, the whole “art imitating life”-element has always been a key element to The Boys. Still, it’s taken to a whole new level with season 4.

In fact, the season finale takes place on January 6. A date that lives in infamy now and with The Boys, you’ll see art imitating reality in the most terrifying ways. Obviously, this also makes for many bleak and brutal moments that hit very close to home.

This is not a feel-good show, but it reminds everyone to fight for what you believe in. Or, at the very least, not just go along with something you know in your heart or gut is wrong.

Start watching The Boys Season 4 on Prime Video!
The Boys is – at its core – about a group of vigilantes called “The Boys” who want to expose the truth about The Seven and Vought. The latter is, of course, the multibillion-dollar conglomerate that manages superheroes. And has a lot of dirty (often bloody) secrets.

It is the battle of David and Goliath. The seemingly powerless against the super-powerful, but after three seasons, you won’t be surprised to see in Season 4 that it isn’t that simple. Also, Vought and The Seven love to paint themselves as powerless and innocent.

All while talking about “Jewish Space Lasers” and claiming that those who oppose them are cannibals eating and killing innocent children. There’s a very strong “Pizzagate” reference in an episode as well.

The Boys is based on The New York Times’ best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, who also serve as executive producers. The Amazon Prime Video series was developed by executive producer and showrunner Eric Kripke.

Season 4 of The Boys premieres with three episodes and this should be plenty to get you hooked all over again. Actually, one episode is plenty, but I’m happy we’re getting three to get back into this world. The eighth and final episode of the season comes July 18, 2024.

The Boys will end with Season 5
When season 4 ends, you will surely be longing for news about season 5. Well, fortunately, The Boys season 5 has already been greenlit ahead of the season 4 premiere.

However, we also know that season 5 of The Boys will be the final season. With all that happens in season 4 (including all the gorgeous cameos and real-life references), I am very happy we’re getting another season.

Also, as bleak and terrible as everything has always been in the world of Supes in The Boys, it seems like a fifth season is a good place to wrap it all up. Series creator and season 4 showrunner Erik Kripke has stated that season 5 will be the last season of The Boys.

The Boys season 4 premieres on Prime Video on June 13, 2024.
