Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was ordered to be released immediately from a federal lock-up in Manhattan four months early Thursday by a judge who cited his asthma and the greater danger he faced during the coronavirus outbreak behind bars.
A.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer ruled one day after telling prosecutors from both sides he wanted to do so. He cited "a raging and virulent pandemic that has infiltrated New York City federal jails." Prosecutors have not resisted the move.
American rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine comes through with new album titled – “Covid-69,” few days after he was released from prison over coronvirus fear. He has been in a New York City jail since he was sentenced to 2 years in prison last year for his entanglement with a violent street gang that fueled his rise to fame. Prior to his sentencing, Tekashi 6ix9ine expressed regret for joining the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, apologizing to his family, his fans and the victims in the case.
The rapper was scheduled to be released in August. The order is dated Wednesday, April 1, but was withheld from the public docket at the request of prosecutors, who wanted the extra time to make sure that Hernandez was safely transported from the jail to the undisclosed residence where he will be staying.
