The long awaited movie “The Wait“, inspired by Yewande Zaccheaus‘ faith-based book “Waiting Room”.
“The Wait” follows the lives of different individuals and families as they try to navigate the disappointments and obstacles of life while waiting for the moments they would embrace their babies.
The feature-length film stars
Nse Ikpe-Etim, Deyemi Okanlawon, Kate Henshaw, Joke Silva, Jimmy Odukoya, Chimezie Imo, Meg Otanwa ahd other talented cast.
The story line behind The Wait is an exceptional one as it tackles the issues of infertility in marriages and what couples go though behind close doors while waiting to have a child of their own.
The Wait gives hope to the all childless couple going through one health issue or the other. It also proffers other options to seek while ‘Waiting’. IVF, adoption, Surrogacy and the likes.
As much as we love the faith based movie, The Wait was as boring as boring could ever get. Nothing to excite or give you the kick. The movie was rigid and too focused for liking.
The scenes were also confusing and tacky, This moment, you are trying to understand what’s going on here, the next minute is a flip and again, you’re lost. In fact there are certain scenes that shouldn’t have found its way into the movie, E.g where Somto was chased by three angry men armed with machete. That particular scene has no business with the movie, no impact, no purpose.
The ending part of the movie didn’t get anyone excited either, instead questions were flying here and there, as some people were left in confusion, what happened? how did it happen? Well, unless there’s a sequel, The Wait wasn’t worth the wait after all!
