The Design and Display
Being a mate of the Google Pixel 4, the Google Pixel 4 XL features matching design with its predecessor. Both smartphones have the same outer look.

The only you can differentiate both smartphones from each other via their weight and height. It is taller and weighs more than the Pixel 4.

It is just like its predecessor, features metal and glass in its build. There is Corning Grilla Glass 5 on both the front and back, with a metal frame holding it in place.

Taking a look at the rear of the Google Pixel 4 XL, we have a setup that appears to be a sequel of the iPhone 11. The rear of the smartphone is home to a squared camera module, which is home to a dual-camera setup and a camera flash.

Google has chosen to retail the subtle look on the Pixel. Apart from the camera module, the only thing you will find on this rear covering is Google’s mascot. Representing Google’s mascot is a big “G“.

Fliping the handset to get a front view, we have a humongous forehead and a tiny chin. Instead of making big bezels disappear, Google increased it. But its forehead bezel was increased for a reason.

The top bezel of the Google Pixel 4 XL is home to an array of a suite of sensors that power its Facial ID system. The suite of sensors is home to an infrared projector, an infrared receiver, and a radar.

The smartphone features a display bigger than what we had on the Google Pixel 4. Instead of having a 5.7-inch display, the Google Pixel 4 features a 6.3-inch display.

This display is a  P-AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. And screen resolution of 1440 X 3040 and a screen density of 537ppi.

The Cameras
The camera on the Google Pixel 4 XL is a replica of what we had on the Google Pixel 4. It has the same dual cameras setup on the rear, as well as the same single selfie camera upfront.

The Dual Camera system on the rear of the Google Pixel 4 XL houses a 12MP primary sensor with an aperture of F/1.7.  upfront the Google Pixel 4 houses a 16MP telephoto camera with an aperture of F/2.0.

This rear camera setup lets you take photos in HDR and panorama. For videos, the Google Pixel 4XL lets you shoot 4k videos at 30fps, 1080p videos at 30, 60 and 120fps.

It features an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of F/2.0. This camera lets you take photos in HDR and also shoot 1080p videos with frame rate maxed at 30fps.

The Google Pixel 4 XL color variants include, Oh So orange which has a mixture of orange and black, clearly white which has a mixture of white and just black.

Hardware and Software
Similarities continue. The Google Pixel 4 XL specs are almost the same thing as what you get in the Google Pixel 4, with some disparities, disparities that tell on the price.

It is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Although the Snapdragon 855 is pretty much recent, featuring the top of the line Snapdragon 855+ on the phone would have been much better since it is a pro device.

Other major hardware specs on the Google Pixel 4 XL includes a 6GB RAM, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Please note that it doesn’t have a Micro-SD slot, this means you won’t be able to expand the memory.

The Google Pixel 4XL packs in a 3700 mAh as supposed to the 2800mAh battery that is featured on the Google Pixel 4. Apart from its bigger display, it’s the bigger battery is another reason you would probably want to pick up the Google Pixel 4 XL instead of the Google Pixel 4.

The Android phone charges via USB type C and supports 18W fast charge. Wireless charging is also supported on this device.

On the software side, the Google Pixel 4 XL runs a stock Android interface on top of Android 10.

Connectivity
The Google Pixel 4 XL features a USB Type C (3.1) port, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC ( Near field connection). Please note that the cell phone doesn’t have a 3.5mm headphone jack, instead it makes use of USB type C headphones and wireless headphones for private listening.

The only supported Nigerian LTE band on the Google Pixel 4 XL is the band 7, this means Nigerians will only be able to use MTN 4G sim on this.  However, LTE bands supported on the Google Pixel 4 includes: 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, 25, 26, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, 71.

Google Pixel 4 XL Price and Availability

Review: Google Pixel 4 Specs Features and Price
Reply #1 on: October 30, 2019, 09:35:27 AM

Google Pixel 4 Specs - Having witnessed a lot of smartphone release in 2019, the Google Pixel 4 is expected to defeat all odds, housing specs that make other smartphones a little less worthy to look at. How well does this work? Answers on Google Pixel 4 specs and price would be dealt with in this article.

Google Pixel 4 Key Specs & Features
  • 5.4-inch, P-OLED Display, 1080 x 2280 pixels (444 ppi)
  • Android 10
  • 6GB RAM
  • Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 855
  • 64GB / 128GB built-in Storage
  • 12MP + 16MP Dual Rear Camera and 8MP Front Camera
  • 4G LTE
  • Water and Dust Proof (IP68 certification)
  • 2,800mAh non-removable Li-ion battery

The Design and Display
compare the Google Pixel 4 to the Google Pixel 3 and you discover a lot has changed. It features a complete chassis redesign. The smartphone build comprises of metal and glass. There is Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, and a metal frame holding the glasses in place.

The rear of the handset is home to a squared of camera bump that seems to be a reminiscence of what we had on the iPhone 11. The only difference here is that the cameras are a bit more flushed and less bumpy.

This squared off-camera bump holds two cameras, a camera flash. Apart from this square camera bump, the only thing you will find on the rear of phone, is a big “G”, which indicates Google.

Turn the Google Pixel 4 we have a controversial look, instead of ditching big bezels for good, Google brings back huge bezels. The Android phone has a big bezel on the top and very small bezels on the bottom.

There is a reason Google Pixel 4 has a big forehead. Google has packed in an array of sensors that help in swift facial recognition.

Sensors featured here include an infrared projector, an infrared receiver, and a radar. The Selfie camera is also housed in this big forehead.

The Google Pixel 4 has a 90Hz Display
In between the forehead and the chin, is a 5.4-inch P-OLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2280 and also a screen density of 444 ppi.

This display is a 90Hz display, yes you read it right, Google finally featured 90Hz display on their smartphone.

Just like other smartphones, this display occasionally dips to 60Hz to save battery. You would have to enable force 90Hz display in developer options to keep the 90Hz refresh rate constant.

The Google Pixel 4 packs in very color design, that is certainly going to appeal to a lot of enthusiasts. All variants except for the Just black color variant feature a color mix.

The Oh So orange variant has a mixture of orange and black, while the clearly white has a mixture of white and black.

The Cameras
Without a doubt, the most anticipated upgrade in every Google Pixel smartphone is its cameras. This is due to the fact that over the years Google has made a name for its self in smartphone photography. Google Pixel phones are known to be one of the most capable smartphones for photography.

The Pixel 4 is Google’s first smartphone with a dual-camera setup. According to Google, Having a telephoto camera is better than having a wide-angle camera.

This has prompted them to feature a secondary camera with a telephoto lens, instead of a wide-angle camera.

This dual-camera system on the rear is home to a 12MP primary camera with an aperture of F/1.7 and a 16MP telephoto camera with an aperture of F/2.4.

This rear camera setup lets you take photos in HDR and panorama. For videos, the Google Pixel 4 lets you shoot 2160p videos at 30fps, 1080p videos at 30,60 and 120fps. As expected videos shot with this smartphone are electronically stabilized.

Upfront, the smartphone features an 8MP selfie camera with an aperture of F/2.0. This selfie camera lets you take photos in HDR and also shoot 1080p videos with frame rate maxed at 30fps.

Hardware and Software
The hardware specs on the Google Pixel 4 is pretty much a replica of what you would get on any flagship. although there are some shortcomings here that many enthusiasts may frown out.

For starters, instead of featuring the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, the cell phone comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. Performance-wise it may not be much of a big deal, but considering the prestige it holds, one would expect the best of the best stuff.

Google has finally listened to critics, they have finally upgraded the RAM featured on Google Pixel smartphones. Instead of featuring 4GB of RAM like it’s predecessors did, the Pixel 4 features 6GB of RAM.

Google Pixel 4 has 64GB and 128GB storage variants. Please note that there is no room for storage expansion as the mobile phone doesn’t have a micro-SD slot.

Another controversial feature of the Google Pixel 4, is its battery. It’s 2019 and the smartphone features a 2800mmAh battery. A smartphone with power-hungry specs should be paired with large batteries for sustainability.

This 2800mAh battery is a Non-removable Li-Po battery. It supports 18W fast charge and also has support for wireless charging.

Being a Google phone that it is, you probably expect to get stock Android on top of the latest Android operating system. It provides just that. Google Pixel 4 runs stock Android interface on top of Android 10.

Connectivity
Seems the 3.5mm headphone jack we use to have on Google pixel phones is gone forever and it’s not coming back. Just like it’s predecessor, Google Pixel 4 doesn’t have a headphone jack instead it makes use USB-C headphones.

The Google Pixel 4 features a USB Type C (3.1) port, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC ( Near field connection).

The only support Nigerian LTE band is the band 7, this means Nigerians will only be able to use MTN 4G sim on the Google Pixel 4. However, LTE bands supported on the Google Pixel 4 includes: 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 14, 17, 25, 26, 30, 38, 41, 48, 66, 71.

Google Pixel 4 Price and Availability
Google Pixel 4 Price in Nigeria starts at around 288,000 Naira. The official launch price of the Google Pixel 4 was $799 for the 64GB variant and $899 (324,988 Naira) for 128GB of storage.

The Google Pixel 4 is currently available for purchase and can be purchased from the Google store and other supported retail outlets around the world.
