The Realme X50 Pro Player steps up Realme’s budget flagship killer game, by offering a price tag that makes it the current holder of the title for being the cheapest Android smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor.

However, it had to drop some premium features from the more premium Realme X50 Pro 5G. More on that later.

Realme X50 Pro Player Key Specs & Features

☀️ 6.44 inch Super AMOLED Display, 1080 x 2400 pixels (409 PPI)
☀️ Android 10; Realme UI 1.0
☀️ Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) Processor
☀️ 6GB / 8GB / 12GB RAM
☀️ 128GB Built-in Storage
☀️ 48MP + 8MP +2MP +2MP Quad Rear Camera
☀️ 16MP + 2MP Dual Front Camera
☀️ Fingerprint Sensor (Under Display, Optical)
☀️ 65W Fast Charge
☀️ 4200mAh Non-Removable Li-Po battery

The Design and Display

The Realme X50 Pro player didn’t let go of the design hook. It bears a design setup similar to that of its more premium sibling. You have got the same form factor and placements, coupled with a new glossy finish, as opposed to the matte finish on the X50 Pro 5G.

The rear of this Android smartphone is home to an array of quad cameras, cameras flash, and the Realme bearing which indicates its a Realme smartphone.

Upfront you have got the same 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display, which has a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400, a screen density of 409 PPI, and a 90Hz refresh rate. This display is home to a cut-out that houses dual front-facing cameras.

The Cameras

The process of manufacturing a budget smartphone involves deciphering the features to make less premium. The Realme X50 Pro Player took a hit on its cameras, featuring sensors that are less powerful than what we saw on its more premium sibling.

The 64MP + 12MP + 8MP + 2MP quad rear we saw on the Realme X50 Pro has been replaced by a 48MP + 8MP +2MP + 2MP setup. However, you still get the features, only in a smaller resolution. You have got ultrawide, Macro, and depth.

The Rear cameras setup is capable of shooting 4K @ 30/60fps and 1080p @ 30/60/240/960fps. You also get HDR and Panorama for photos.

Selfies are manned by a dual-camera setup comprising of 16MP primary camera and a 2MP depth camera. This front camera is capable of shooting 1080p video at 30/120fps.

Hardware and Software

The hardware specs sheet surprisingly remains barely untouched. It features the same performance power we saw on the Realme X50 pro 5G. However please note that the 256GB storage variant was eliminated.

The Realme X50 Pro player is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Processor, an Adreno 650 GPU RAM variants of 6GB / 8GB / 12GB, 128GB of internal storage and a 4200mAh Li-Po battery.

On the software side, you have also got the same Realme UI 1.0 running on the Android 10 operating system.

Connectivity

The Realme X50 pro Player features a USB Type C (2.0) port, dual-band wifi, Bluetooth 5.0, and NFC.

Thanks to its 5G support,  internet connectivity on the Realme X50 Pro Player is capped at 5G. Meaning streaming, downloads and uploads can benefit from 5G speeds, as long as there is 5G reception.

Realme X50 Player Price and Availability

The price of the Realme X50 Player is around $385 which is about 151,000 Naira, in 41,234 Kenyan shillings, and 2,222 in Ghana cedi.

The Realme X50 Pro Player was announced on May 25, 2020, and is expected to go on sale on June 1st 2020. It comes in Light Speed Silver, Phantom Black.
