Ayodele Fayose , the former gov of Ekiti State on Monday threatened to quit the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after the party’s National Convention.
The opposition party held its presidential primary on Saturday in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State, where former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was declared the winner and the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2019 general election.
The Ekiti governor, a strong vocal leader of the opposition party in South West and critic of incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari, hinted that he would renounce his “membership of the PDP anytime from now.”
“After consultations, I will speak clearly to Nigerians,” Fayose told Punch. The reason for Fayose’s surprising political move is not clear yet, same about his preferred party post PDP.
