While Jonathan visited on Thursday night, Obasanjo chose Friday night for his own visit. Also on the same Friday night, former Speaker of the House of Representatives and Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal and the incumbent Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara met with Buhari at the villa. Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, confirmed the meetings but said he was not privy to the details of the meetings. But feelers said they may not be far from the decision of the president government to descend heavily on the past corrupt officials of government. This is the first official visit of former presidents Obasanjo and Jonathan to president Buhari since he assumed office on May 29. Some quarters of the public feels that Obasanjo was indirectly instrumental to the emergence of president Buhari. Recall that during electioneering campaign, the APC political train visited Obasanjo in his Abeokuta mansion in Ogun state, a development that may have given a new lease of life to the duo’s relationship after they left office as military Heads of State in 1979 and 1985 respectively.
