Former spokesman to then Vice President, Goodluck Jonathan, Olorogun Ima Niboro has officially joined the All Progressives
Congress, APC, in Delta State.
The former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, joined the APC amidst cheers when the leadership comprising of ward chairmen and executive members of the APC in Ughelli South Local Government Area led by Hon. Brighton Obiokor paid him a courtesy visit at his country home in Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area.
Niboro, who is the Urhuemuesiri of Ughievwen Kingdom, stated that he joined the APC to bring development to Ughelli South, Delta State and Nigeria.
While noting that Ughelli South cannot afford to be left out in the development agenda of the Federal Government as championed by President Muhammadu Buhari, Niboro stated that, “the useless opposition will not serve the people of Ughelli South, Delta State and Nigeria. We must work together to achieve synergy to save our communities from infrastructural deficits.
“We cannot sacrifice development to developmental expediency. No single level of government can do it alone. I joined the APC to bring that synergy between the three arms of government so that we can achieve development.”
APC Chairman in Ughelli South Local Government Area, Hon. Brighton Obiokor hailed Niboro for identifying with the party in the area and Delta State, stating that, “with Niboro’s registration with APC, Ughelli South LGA will deliver in the next general elections come 2019. APC will do better than it used to”.
Obiokor, who boasted that APC has over 80 per cent population of the people in Ughelli South, hinted in a chat with DAILY POST that the party’s only challenge is how to get funds to manage its members.
He called on eminent members like Niboro to help finance the party so as to win the forthcoming Local Government Election in the area.
Delta Central APC Chairman, Comrade Orakata Oviri also commended Niboro for joining the APC as he expressed the belief that the declaration will move the party forward to win the 2019 elections.
According to him, “APC will perform better with people like him in the party. We really lack leadership in Ughelli South before now but with Niboro we believe he can join forces to ensure APC gets victory in Ughelli South.
“There is no doubt that come 2019 APC will move to Osadebe House,” he added.
