Watch Video As President Buhari Finally Departs UK For Nigeria TodayPresident Muhammadu Buhari will return to Nigeria on Saturday after over 100 days on medical vacation in United Kingdom, his media aide Femi Adesina has confirmed.
Adesina also revealed that President Buhari will be addressing the country on Monday 21st of August.
The President had left the country on May 7 after handing power over to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who has functioned as Acting President since then. A video of Nigeria’s presidential jet, the Eagle One, taking off from London, UK with President Muhammadu Buhari believed to be on board, has emerged online.
The video was posted on @APCUKingdom’s Twitter account on Saturday, as soon as the presidency confirmed Buhari will be arriving later in the day.
The video caption read: ”[SAFE JOURNEY]. Eagle One Checked! Eagle One Flight Plan Checked! Eagle One Cockpit Logbook Checked!” The President’s return came after he had spent over 100 days in London for medical treatment.
Buhari is expected to speak to Nigerians in a broadcast by 7am on Monday.
