The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested a former Governor of Imo State, Chief Ikedi Ohakim, and a former Governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako (retd), and his son, Abdulazeez.
Investigations revealed that operatives of the commission arrested Nyako, his son and Ohakim on Tuesday evening.
An operative of the commission, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said the two governors and Abdulazeez were being held by the commission for corruption related offences.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed the arrest of the two former governors and Nyako’s son.
He said Nyako, his son and Ohakim were billed to appear in court on Wednesday.
When asked whether the two governors and Abdulazee were in custody of the commission, he said “yes, they are due in court today.”
Our correspondent gathered that the trio might be arraigned at the Federal High Court, Abuja.]
