Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti state has rejected claims that he promised to commit suicide if President Muhammadu Buhari returns to the country alive.
There had been reports that the governor said he will commit suicide if Buhari comes back alive.
Buhari returned back to Nigeria on Saturday after spending over 100 days in the UK treating an undisclosed ailment.
However, the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Idowu Adelusi, said Fayose did not make such a statement.
He said it was a creation of the Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adelusi said,β Mr. Fayose never said he would commit suicide if the President returns to the country.
βIt is the creation of the APC. It is their style to create such falsehood.β
