Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State says military officers and their families will continue to receive the state government’s support in recognition of their service to the state and country at large.

Adeleke revealed this on Thursday in Osogbo, Capital of Osun State at the Launching of Emblem of the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

He stressed that his administration will continue to expand the present level of partnership with the military in the State.

Speaking further, he noted that his administration has a security sector reform which places welfare of service personnel at the centre stage, saying military officers and their families will continue to receive the state government’s support in recognition of their service to the state and country at large.

The governor thereby launched the appeal fund for the 2023 Emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with the sum of N5 million.

According to him, ”The stability of the nation rests on the gallantry, patriotism and sacrifice of the security and military services. Service personnel of the armed forces in particular are in many volatile sectors of the society confronting and curtailing open and subtle threats to the territorial integrity of the country. That we must live, many offered their precious lives. We must therefore continue to acknowledge the contributions of the armed forces to the survival of the nation.

“As we gathered here today, I reassure the military service of the commitment of our government to expand the present level of partnership. Our administration has a security sector reform which places welfare of service personnel at the centre stage.

“Today, I recommit to the wellbeing of our service personnel. Our veterans and their families will continue to receive our support in recognition of their service to the fatherland.

“It is on this note that I launch the appeal fund for the 2023 Emblem for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day with a sum of N5 million.”

Also, The State Chairman of Nigerian Legion in Osun State, Combare Oladipo Peter thanked the state governor and past donor and pleaded for more fund for the remembrance of those who laid their lives and those who became maimed while ensuring national global peace.

“we thank our past donors and we appeal that this year’s donations be more as it through this, we can appreciate, honour and remember the services rendered by those who laid down their lives and those who became maimed and permanently disabled for all to have enshrined National global peace Once again, I thank you all for been here today to celebrate with us while I pray ”
