Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, on Friday, declared that nothing will stop his fight against corruption.

He declared that, under his watch, the commission has recorded 113 convictions between January and June.

The EFFC boss also restated that the commission will bring to book those who have corruptly enriched themselves.

According to a statement issued by the spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Wilson Uwujaren, Magu stated this when he addressed some stakeholders at an interactive meeting in Abuja on Friday.

Fighting For Nigerians interest

The statement quoted Magu as saying that: ”We will not fail and thereafter organise to destabilise the anti-corruption initiatives.

”I will not relent, I will fight for the interest of our citizens and our children’s future.”

Magu reiterated his position that corruption is at the root of recent separatist agitations in parts of the country, and urged all patriotic Nigerians to join forces against it.

Civil society leaders who spoke at the forum called on the commission to step up its awareness activities on the prevention of corruption.

They urged the EFCC to create communication strategies that would motivate the masses to join the anti-corruption crusade.
