Police Declare Melaye Wanted, As ‘Accomplices’ Escape From Prison. Two criminal suspects who accused Senator Dino Melaye (APC-Kogi West) of acquiring arms for them have escaped from police custody, Kogi police command has confirmed.

The two suspects, Kabiru Seudu, aka Osama, and Nuhu Salish, aka Small, along with four others, were said to have escaped from the ‘A’ division cell in Lokoja, around 3am and forcefully went through the back door.

This was confirmed by the State Police Commissioner, Ali Janga.

Senator Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi West Senatorial District on Wednesday asked the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, to produce the two main suspects in his gun-running allegation within 48 hours.

The lawmaker spoke on the floor of the Senate during Plenary session.

Melaye said he had already informed his lawyers to take a legal action against the Police boss if he failed to have the suspects re-arrested.

The embattled senator raised a point of order to inform the Senate that the suspects had allegedly escaped from custody ahead of his (Melaye) arraignment before a court in Kogi State on Wednesday, Punch reports
