Kpagih, alongside the Osun state Commissioner of Police, Fimihan Adeoye, said everything is in place for a hitch-free election. The election, slated for July 8, would commence in allWards in the district by 8am and would end by 2pm. The REC, however, said if there are people still on the queue as at 2pm, the poll would continue till the last person has cast his or her vote. According to Kpagih, only voters with Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) would be allowed to cast their votes. Speaking at the press conference, the Police Commissioner said there would be a restriction on vehicular movement between the 6am and 6pm. This curfew would not affect the Ibadan/Ife expressway. Adeoye warned anyone thinking of fomenting trouble to have a rethink as his men are in place to quell all disturbances.
