Hon. Timothy Owoeye, speaker of the State of Osun House of Assembly, was traveling in a vehicle that was involved in an accident on Thursday afternoon.

According to Kunle Alabi, the Speaker's Chief Press Secretary, the accident happened on the Osogbo-Ilesa route when a car traveling in the opposite direction crashed into the convoy, causing a head-on collision.

According to Alabi, those who suffered varying degrees of injuries were sent immediately to the House of Assembly clinic and UNIOSUN Teaching Hospital for care. Insight Media could not confirm if the speaker sustained injury during the crash.

Due to the damaged automobiles blocking the majority of the Ilesa motorway, the collision resulted in gridlock.
