Oluwo of Iwoland, HIM Oba Abdul-Rasheed Adewale, Telu I, has appealed to his subjects across the state most especially the people of Iwo Federal Constituency of Osun State to register for their voters’ card in preparation for Iwolokan 2018 agenda as mark of debut for the coveted seat of the first citizen of the state.

Oluwo lamented the number of 66,000 registered voters in Iwo
as ridiculous and disheartening, saying Iwo is politically enlightened to command less than 100,000 eligible voters.

The monarch appealed to the sons, daughters and dwellers of his constituency to confirm their voter`s card registration as part of the sacrifice to realize Iwolokan 2018 of our dream.

The appealed was contained in a press statement made available to journalists last Sunday by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem in readiness for 2018 guber race in the state.

Oba Akanbi disclosed voters`cards as primary certificate for any free, fair and credible election, pointing that Iwo is too enlightened politically to command meagre number of registered voters.

The monarch implored his political subjects to take the responsibility of enlightening the populace as theirs for the realisation of Iwolokan agenda in 2018.

Oluwo disclosed that anyone above 18 years is eligible to register for their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) in order to
exercise their franchise of voting and to be voted for.

He appealed to Iwo sons and daughters in diaspora to relocate their PVC to Iwo and mobilize their children to come and register in Iwo for the success of the town`s political expectation.

Oluwo said he has sent political signals to political parties in the
state to consider Iwo in selecting or electing their respective standard bearer in 2018 should they want any support from Iwo.
“It is ridiculous Iwo has only 66,000 PVC.

Iwo is politically matured to command such a low number. Iwo is more than 200,000 in population.

And as such, should command at least 100,000 above 18 years that are eligible to votes. It is high time our people is more enlightened to value the power of PVS.

I appealed to my sons, daughters and all the dwellers of Iwo to go
and register for their PVS with immediate effect.

The struggle for Osun State 2018 starts now, tomorrow may be too late”.

“I equally appealed to all my subjects in diaspora to relocate
their PVS and that of their children to Iwo in preparation for 2018 gubernatorial race as politics is a game of number. We are due
for the number one citizen of Osun State.

Iwo has always been instrumental to the emergence of previous governors in the state.

Undoubtedly, the payback time is 2018.

“I have signalled the political parties in Osun to consider Iwo in
selecting or electing their respective standard bearer to acknowledge the status of Iwo as bastion of progressive governance ” said Oluwo
