According to Thesource, The home of Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, the Accord Party's (AP) governorship candidate, was destroyed by fire in his birthplace of Ile Ogbo, Ayedire local government area of the State of Osun.

According to reports, the structure caught fire on Sunday night at around 7:45 p.m. Barely five days to July 16 governorship poll in Osun State, some unknown gunmen have reportedly invaded and attacked the residence of the Labour Party governorship candidate, Mr. Lasun Yusuf, located in Ilobu, Osun State.

Wole Oladimeji, the media aide to Lasun Yusuff confirmed the attack, saying that the ex-deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, and members of his family, who had returned home to celebrate the Eid Kabir festival were all in the house when the attackers struck in the early hours of Monday.

Oladimeji disclosed that when the attackers could not gain entrance into the building, they fired shots from outside the premises, aiming at the upper floor of the storey building where bedrooms are, and shattered the aluminum windows.
