On September 9, 2020, the case labelled CR/975/2020 was brought before the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory , Abuja. Four counts of conspiracy, cheating, fraud and forgery are included. Rimamsomte Ezekiel, a lawyer in the Legal Defense Division of the Force Criminal Investigation Department at the Force Headquarters, has filed it on behalf of the IGP. The prosecution alleged that in January 2017 in Abuja, Binuyo "conspired to dupe one Babatunde Ajala and his company BMA Nigeria Limited with others who are now at large." He was also alleged to have "forged and signed, as Mr Hakeem Thanni, an investment agreement with BMA Nigeria Limited and Mr Tunde Ajala for Ahad International FZC business." Tunde Ajala and his company BMA Nigeria Limited were also reported to have received $120,000 "with the intent to defraud and under false pretence." It was also alleged that the defendant "cheated Babatunde Ajala and his BMA Nig business." $120,000.00 Ltd. ».
