APC Senatorial Candidate, Tadese Escapes Assassination As PDP Thugs Allegedly Attacked Supporters In Ikire, Osun State.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused Akogun Lere Oyewunmi, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Osun west senatorial district in the general election that will take place in a month's time, of using hoodlums to target party supporters in Irewole Local Government.
An APC member claimed in a Facebook post that men from Akogun Lere Oyewumi attacked the campaign of Dr. Amidu Tadese, the APC's candidate for senator from Osun West, while moving from wards toward Ikire town.
On Tuesday, it was learned that the attack in Ward 9 in Ikire injured a number of APC supporters and members.
It was reported that the political thugs attacked them with guns and cutlasses and destroyed their vehicles.
However, supporters of the PDP senatorial candidate refuted the claim, claiming that the candidate is only concerned with how to market himself to the people of Osun West and that he did not direct or send anyone to attack the APC candidate.
They claimed that the allegations were unfounded and lacked merit, and they urged the APC to shift the blame elsewhere.
