President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday morning described his re-election as humbling.
Buhari, who was the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate defeated his main rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the election held on Saturday, February 23, 2019.
The Nigerian leader polled 15,191,847 votes, while Atiku got 11,262,978 votes.
Buhari reacted to his re-election at the campaign secretariat of his party, thanking Nigerians for giving him another four-year mandate.
He stressed that he would continue to run an all-inclusive government, as he said his victory was a validation of the support of the Nigerian people.
”I am deeply humbled that you found me worthy of continuing to serve you,” the 76-year-old leader of the most populous country in Africa said.
He also thanked the party’s bigwigs and members including Adams Oshiomhole, the National Chairman of his party; Rotimi Amaechi, Director-General of the APC Campaign Council; and Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the party, among others.
