The Association had in a statement, signed by its Chairman Adepoju ATOBATELE and Secretary, Olusola Ajiboye lauded the supreme court justices for standing with the legitimate choice of the people as freely expressed on the july 16th 2022 Governorship polls in Osun state. The Association noted that the judgement which upheld all grounds canvassed by the appeal court is a watershed in determining electoral disputes that could have undermined democracy and rule of law. The Association of Veteran Journalists urged people of Osun state to give maximum support to Governor Ademola Adeleke, in his efforts to reposition the socio-economic and political paradigms of the state and meet the expectations of the people. While advocating an all inclusive administration as fulcrum of governance, the Association charged Governor Ademola Adeleke to bring on board men and women of proven integrity who are committed to the progress and development of Osun state. The Veteran Journalists specifically noted the good starting point of the new administration and charged it not to deviate in addressing critical issues of infrastructure, job creation, education, agriculture and security. While wishing Governor Ademola Adeleke a successful tenure, the Association is hopeful that with adequate support of the people, Osun state will witness a new birth of progress and development.
