 The Chief Judge of Ekiti State, Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, has been reported dead at 64. It was gathered that he died on Monday, November 4, 2024, following a brief illness, at a tertiary health facility in Ekiti State. While official details surrounding his death remain undisclosed, The Nation reports that close sources indicate that Justice Adeyeye’s passing occurred after a short stay in the hospital. Justice Adeyeye was appointed Chief Judge on October 11, 2021, by former Governor Kayode Fayemi. Born in 1960 in Araromi Ugbesi, located in Ekiti East Local Government Area, he embarked on his legal journey after being called to the bar in 1986. He began his career as a state counsel in the civil service of the former Ondo State. With the establishment of Ekiti State in 1996, he joined the Ekiti State Judiciary Service Commission. His commitment and dedication led to his promotion as a judge in the Ekiti State High Court in 2002. Over the years, Justice Adeyeye also contributed to the legal process by serving on various election petition tribunals.

Aside from issues with a woman’s reproductive organs and non-viable sperm, sexual positions can’t impact conception, gynaecologists have confirmed.
Some claims that specific sexual positions could make conception easier and faster were disclaimed by the maternal health experts, confirming that there was no scientific basis for such.
Health research revealed that there are claims that sex positions such as missionary, dogy and spoon, among other styles could increase conception rates. Their argument was based on the premise that such styles brought the penis closer to the cervix, creating easy access for the sperm to flow directly into the fallopian tubes, leading to pregnancy.
However, the gynaecologists noted that all things being equal, once a healthy sperm reaches the vagina and could swim to the cervix, a woman would conceive regardless of the sex position. The physicians further asserted that a sex position was only medically considered during sex selection.
While providing expert advice on the issue, a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun state, Ernest Orji, stated that although the myth exists, there was no scientific basis for it.
According to him: “There is no sexual position that a woman takes that she won’t get pregnant. None is easier or faster than the other one. Sometimes, the man can ejaculate on the woman’s thigh and she will still get pregnant. Once sperm enters into the vagina, anyhow, the woman can get pregnant.
_____“We know that the womb can sometimes be introverted but sperm moves freely. Unless the cervix is blocked and prevents the sperm from entering, no position makes getting pregnant better or faster. If every other thing is normal with the sperm and the woman, once the sperm enters into the vagina, the woman can get pregnant.”
He further clarified that on the other hand, no sexual position could reduce the chances of getting pregnant.
The researcher on Reproductive and Feto-maternal Health added, “A lot of time, some people would think that since there was no deep penetration during sex, there wouldn’t be pregnancy. But if there was ejaculation, the woman would get pregnant.”
Also, Dr Stanley Egbogu, a Consultant Gynaecologist, stated that sex position was only significant during sex or gender selection of a child, affirming that the position assumed during sex had no impact on the possibility of conception.
In his words; “Anytime there is difficulty in conceiving, we don’t look at the position. Position does not mean anything,” Egbogu said.
He further reaffirmed his position, mentioning that even those who relied on the withdrawal method as a means of contraception could still get pregnant because the pre-ejaculatory fluid, which would……..have been released before withdrawal, has been tested to contain some sperm.
The gynaecologist further clarified that no sex position could reduce the likelihood of pregnancy or serve as an effective method of avoiding it; “Position will play less or no part because if you have good quality sperm and eggs, whether it’s missionary, lateral or dog style, they can get pregnant. So, we don’t bother about positioning when we talk about people trying to conceive. It is when we want to talk about sex formation that is when we talk………..about the positioning, that is the posterior side, meeting the woman on the day of her release of egg and alkalinisation.”
“In a fertile person, even the pre-ejaculation fluid can make the person pregnant, much less the semen. If you don’t want to get pregnant, there are laid down rules, we have our guidelines, which is family planning. We have emergency contraception, the normal family planning method of contraception that we use, we have condoms, cervical caps, oral contraceptive pills that a woman can swallow once every day for 30 days, we have Progesterone-only contraceptive pills, injectables, implants and intrauterine contraceptive device.
“We methods of preventing pregnancy and sexual position are not methods. Withdrawal method is a method of family planning but it has a high failure rate. So, there is no sexual position that is used as a family planning method.”

 On Friday, November 1, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission grilled the controversial cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, who is also known as Bobrisky, regarding his claim that he bribed some officials of the commission with the sum of N15m. Bobrisky was heard in a viral audio released by activist, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, claiming that some yet-to-be-identified EFCC officials collected the said amount (N15m) from him to drop the money laundering charges against him (Bobrisky). A source in the anti-graft commission disclosed that Bobrisky’s interrogation began immediately after he was moved to Abuja. “He was interrogated for hours upon his arrival here. He is still with us as I speak (8:30pm),” the source in the commission added. The anti-graft body had earlier disclosed that the cross-dresser was flown to Abuja over his failure to honour its invitations. The EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, confirmed this on Friday morning, adding that Bobrisky could face a fresh charge from the commission if his allegations against the anti-corruption agency were false. “Bobrisky is on his way to Abuja as we speak,” Oyewale added. Okuneye’s invitation by the commission reportedly followed a voice recording shared by controversial social critic Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan. However, the EFCC denied the allegation, stating that the case was legally dismissed and set up a panel to investigate the matter further. On Thursday night, Bobrisky, while attempting to leave the country for London, the United Kingdom, was removed from an Amsterdam-bound KLM flight at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. The popular cross-dresser posted on his Instagram page to alert followers about the arrest, stating that he had sustained injuries during an altercation with the immigration officers. According to sources in the commission, Bobrisky did not honour invitations by the commission for him to substantiate his claims, hence the reason for his arrest. However, a top source in the commission said on Friday that Bobrisky was picked up to prove his allegations against the EFCC. The source said, “We have arrested him in Lagos and will be flown to Abuja today. He accused us of bribery and corruption; we invited him severally, but he did not show up. He who alleges must be ready to prove. Those allegations are too weighty to allow slide. “Also, remember that he has also refused to show up at the National Assembly on the matter. We are left with no other choice than to pick him up so that he can substantiate his claims. And that is what we have done. “ Another source said he had been on the watch list of the commission and other security agencies hence it was impossible for him to escape out of the country. The source said, “He should know that he cannot sneak out of the country when he has made that kind of allegations against not only our commission but others. He should know we would get him and that it was a matter of time.” At a press briefing on Thursday, the Director of Public Affairs, Wilson Uwajaren, had stated that one could be charged for giving false information to the EFCC, let alone making false allegations against the commission. Meanwhile, the EFCC’s spokesperson stated that Bobrisky failed to respond to multiple summonses from both the commission and the House of Representatives concerning his claims of having paid an N15m bribe to the EFCC to dismiss money laundering charges against him. Speaking in an interview with Saturday PUNCH, Oyewale said, “Those that are accusing the EFCC of arresting Bobrisky are not aware of the developments concerning his matter. He alleged that he bribed EFCC officers. “It is public knowledge that he made that allegation and we have invited him to come and unravel whoever is involved in the matter. He was also invited by the House of Representatives committee for the public hearing. He neither responded to us nor made himself available to the House of Reps. “We arrested him because he did not honour our invitation. Once he tells us who collected money from him, we will release him.” Addressing the timing of Bobrisky’s arrest, which occurred when he was already aboard a London-bound plane, Oyewale simply said, “A suspect can be arrested anywhere.”

 Sefilahi Danlami, a 19-year-old scraps worker (pantaker), has been allegedly stabbed to death. The boy was killed by his colleagues in Mpape, Bwari Area Council of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). According to SaharaReporters, it was gathered that the incident which caused commotion in the area happened at "pantaker market" (Scrab Market) on Friday at about 2:30pm. A source told SaharaReporters that one Ibrahim Dahiru who claimed that the deceased stole from him, arranged some boys to attack him with dangerous weapons at the Pantaker market, where he was stabbed to death. "On Friday at pantaker market, 2:30pm, Ibrahim Dahiru and some other pantakers boys attacked Sefilahi Danlami. "Ibrahim who said Danlami stole from him arranged some boys to attack him with dangerous weapons at pantaker market and he was stabbed to death," the source said. However, the spokesperson of FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Saturday. She noted that one suspect by name Ibrahim Dahiru, 22 years old, has been arrested, adding that investigations are still ongoing to unravel the facts of the incident. She said; "It is a case of culpable homicide at Panteka market in Mpape of the FCT. A distress call was received by Mpape Police division FCT Police Command on 01 November 2024. Police operatives dispatched to the scene, one suspect by name Ibrahim Dahiru 22 yrs old was arrested. "Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect earlier mobilised seven (7) of his friends who are currently at large to attack the deceased Sefilahi Danlami ‘m’ 19yrs old, resulting in his death. Investigations are still ongoing to unravel the facts of the incident and updates will be given in due course."

 Young Thug has pleaded guilty to in the YSL trial and will be released on probation. The rapper, whose given name is Jeffery Williams, was released Thursday night after more than 900 days in custody. He will have to serve 15 years on probation as part of the non-negotiated plea agreement, according to multiple news outlets. The rapper pleaded no contest to counts of racketeering and directing a criminal street gang, and he accepted a non-negotiated guilty plea deal Thursday on a number of offences, including possession of a firearm and involvement in criminal street gang activities. It was the longest case in Georgia’s history. In 2022, Williams was charged alongside more than two dozen others under Georgia’s sprawling Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act — known as RICO. The prosecution intended to demonstrate that Young Thug was the YSL gang’s declared leader and that he was responsible for several of the group’s crimes, such as the 2015 shooting death of a suspected rival gang member. Prosecutors said that YSL members used a car that Young Thug had rented in the murder. Williams entered a guilty plea to six charges: three counts of Georgia Controlled Substances Act violations, one offence of handgun possession while committing a felony, one count of machine gun possession, and one count of involvement in criminal street gang activity. The two no-contest pleas meant he could still be sentenced for the charges as though a guilty plea had been entered though he did not contest the charges. When the judge asked if he’d like to make a comment, Williams said he takes full responsibility and apologized to his family before asking Fulton County Superior Court Judge Paige Reese Whitaker to let him go home. “I am a smart guy. I am a good guy. I really got a good heart,” Williams told the judge as he stood before her. “I find myself in a lot of stuff because, because I was just nice or cool, you know, and I understand that you can’t be that way when you reach a certain height because it could end (badly).” He added: “I’ve learned from my mistakes.” Williams said to the judge on Thursday that he recognised the influence rap music can have on people’s thoughts and that the lyrics “can be twisted.” “I promise you, I’m 100% changing that,” Williams said. Whitaker mandated that Williams spend the first ten years of his probation outside of the metropolitan Atlanta area, starting two days after his release from incarceration. According to Whitaker, Williams is permitted to return to the Atlanta region for graduations, funerals, and marriages, but he must depart within 48 hours after the conclusion of those events. According to the judge, he must host an anti-gang and anti-gun presentation in the neighbourhood four times a year for each year of his probation. According to Whitaker, Williams is also prohibited from knowingly interacting with members or associates of any violent street gang and is have to complete 100 hours of community service during each of his probationary years.
