Entertainments / Mohbad’s widow agrees to DNA test to determine son’s paternity« Last post by Rajih on October 28, 2024, 09:40:10 AM »Omowunmi, widow of the late singer and rapper, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, has expressed readiness to conduct a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test to determine the paternity of their only son, Liam. PUNCH Metro reported that the deceased singer’s father, Joseph Aloba, filed a suit seeking a DNA test for his grandson. In the application filed by the legal team to Joseph, the family sought an order to serve Wunmi by posting all the originating processes and other processes in the suit on the last-known address of the respondent. The family’s legal team led by Emmanuel Oroko, however, argued that attempts to serve Wunmi failed. The Magistrates Court, during its sitting on July 9, 2024, in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, directed both parties to explore an alternative dispute resolution, leading to closed-door negotiations that also failed to yield an agreement. In a statement obtained by PUNCH Metro on Sunday, a representative of the family’s legal team, Monisola Odumosu, stated that Wunmi had agreed to carry out the DNA. Odumosu added that this was followed by the settlement terms drafted by both parties. Odumosu in the statement disclosed that, “Emmanuel Oroko informed the court that both parties had settled outside the court and are ready to move the terms of the settlement already filed and served on Wunmi Aloba’s lawyers. In response, Kabir Akingbolu, Esq. (leading Adams Atata Esq. and M.K.O Orire Esq.) concurred, and the court adopted the terms of settlement as the judgment of the court. According to Odumosu, Mohbad’s widow agreed in the terms of the settlement that the DNA test be conducted in a recognised and accredited government or private medical facility within Lagos State or another agreeable hospital outside the state. The lawyer also noted that Mohbad’s father had agreed to bear the cost of the test processes and other associated fees. “In the terms filed before the court, the respondent, Wunmi Aloba, consented to submit herself and her son, (Master Liam Aloba), for the conduct of a Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) at Two (2) recognised and accredited government or private medical facilities within Lagos State or other agreeable hospital outside Lagos State. In turn, the applicant, Mr. Joseph Aloba, agreed to bear the cost of the DNA test processes, including the fees for the testing facility, the collection of samples, and any associated legal or administrative fees. “The court further ordered that the Deoxyribonucleic Acid (DNA) test be conducted at a mutually agreed-upon laboratory or medical centre within Nigeria. To ensure and ascertain the reliability of the test, the court further appointed some officers to supervise the process of the DNA test,” the statement read. Meanwhile, according to the statement, the court also ordered that both parties should bear their respective costs regarding this case except the processing of the DNA tests the applicant undertook to bear. Mohbad died at the age of 27, with circumstances surrounding his death sparking controversies on social media. Being a former record label signee of Marlian Music owned by Naira Marley, Mohbad left the label in February 2022. The Lagos State Police Command had on September 18, 2023, inaugurated a 13-man special investigation team to probe the singer’s death. His death also led to the arrest of Naira Marley and controversial Lagos socialite, Balogun Eletu, also known as Sam Larry, amongst others. The body of Mohbad was on September 21, 2023, exhumed for autopsy to unravel the cause of his death. Meanwhile, some observers from various countries have raised concerns over the coroner’s inquest into Mohbad’s death, citing alleged unfair proceedings and potential suppression of evidence. The group, in a statement on Sunday, stated that they were advocating truth, fairness, equity, and accountability, and had been monitoring the court sitting at Ikorodu, Lagos State, Nigeria. The observers expressed reservations about adjournments of the proceedings and other factors they alleged threatened justice for Mohbad. During the cross-examination of Mohbad’s widow, Omowunmi Adebanjo, the observers also alleged that counsels were constantly interjected and prevented from gathering desired information. PUNCH 82

Movie Trailer And Series / Watch Hellbound Season 2 – Korean Movie Review | Netflix Drama« Last post by Mr. Babatunde on October 28, 2024, 04:38:32 AM »HELLBOUND Season 2 can finally be watched on Netflix now. The genre series from South Korea (org. title: Jiok) premiered in November of 2021, so it’s been nearly three long years. Maybe it feels even longer because Season 1 ended on a cliffhanger. I found a recap before watching this second season, but episode 1 does begin with a recap, so Netflix got you covered. Do not skip this unless you’ve recently watched season 1 or have a very good memory. At the end of Hellbound Season 1, we saw a victim of being “hellbound” come back to life. Her burned skeletal remains caught fire and she was resurrected. Presumably, she went to hell and now came back. Also, there was another key scene at the end of the first season, which is where Season 2 begins. We get to see Jung Jinsu (leader of The New Truth organization) experience his own “demonstration”. We learned at the end of season 1, that Jung Jinsu was warned about this (got his “decree”) decades prior. Usually, people only get days to prepare. Jung Jinsu got much longer and started an organization claiming only sinners would be sent to Hell. He knew this not to be true but started The New Truth to prevent full-blown anarchy. If you’ve watched the amazing (and extremely brutal) movie The Sadness, it’s a pretty good indication of what could happen if people realized they couldn’t prevent being sent to Hell. No matter how good and pious they were in life. After seeing Jung Jinsu being dragged to Hell, there’s a time jump. Be warned, there are several time jumps and they are not chronological, so pay attention. By episode 2, you’ll have a sense of how this can work. However, the first time jump comes only after we see what happens to Jung Jinsu when those three monstrous creatures have sent him to Hell. Oh yeah, in season 2 of Hellbound, we see what the supposedly hellbound people experience. I think it’s fair to say that you go through your own very personal Hell. It’s a cruel and intense experience, but then Jung Jinsu is also brought back to life. And not a second too soon, as years have passed in our world which has not evolved in a good way. Arrowhead – who has a very different approach to the demonstrations than The New Truth – is about to take over political power in the country. Arrowhead is essentially a cult labeling everything a sin and stating that you must repent to have a chance of some sort. If you’ve watched any documentaries about cults, you’ll know that South Korea has been virtually riddled with religious cults over the years. Park Jungja, who was convinced to have her “demonstration” on a live broadcast in season 1, and was resurrected at the end of season 1, is now in the custody of The New Truth. Unfortunately, the New Truth Church has not been successful in holding on to power without Chairman Jung Jinsu. Officially, he disappeared, but the new chairman knows the truth. Jung Jinsu told him to help him continue the work. Fighting The New Truth for power is the unruly Arrowhead cult. They use propaganda and public trials to wield their power. And it’s getting very dangerous as they’re going for actual political power in the upcoming election. That’s why the government tasks The New Truth with establishing a new order by using the resurrected Park Jungja. This happens by declaring that Park Jungja has been resurrected and the New Truth will soon come out with a “New Will”. Yes, it’s quite a “New Testament”-move. Then Chairman Jung Jinsu is suddenly also resurrected. However, as he returns from Hell, Sodo – a group that vows to protect the innocent – wants Jung Jinsu to help them prevent further chaos. Speaking of chaos, at the beginning of episode 2, my favorite character plays a large role. I’m talking about Min Hyejin (played by the brilliant Kim Hyun-joo). She was the person walking away with the infant who survived a decree because her parents shielded her tiny body and sacrificed themselves. In any case, Hyejin is back in a wild action scene. First, there’s a cool fight, then the most amazing car chase scene, and then she kicks everyone’s butt again. It reminds me exactly why I adored her in the first season. Also, yes, we will find out what happened to the infant girl who survived. After a five-year time jump in episode 2. Watch Season 2 of Hellbound on Netflix now! When season 1 came out, Hellbound won Best Horror Series in the 2021 Golden Tomato Awards. It was also in the Top 10 in 93 countries just ten days after its release. Clearly, it was a huge hit, but this second season has been a long time coming. The main trailer for season 2 highlighted Jung Jinsu and Park Jungja, but we will also get new characters in this second season. Cheon Sehyeong (Im Seong-jae) is the first person to meet the resurrected Jung Jinsu. Lee Sugyeong (Moon So-ri) is a political affairs secretary who wants to use the New Truth and Park Jungja to restore order. Overall, Season 2 of Hellbound shows us a world in chaos, where everyone tries to figure out how to deal with the sudden resurrections of Chairman Jung Jinsu and Hellbound poster-girl Park Jungja. Together, they’re known as “The Resurrected Ones”. But will the Resurrected Ones be able to make people hope for a better world or is it simply the beginning of another Hell that will result in even more chaos?! Watch Season 2 to find out as Hellbound unfolds once again. Hellbound season 2 is out with six new episodes on October 25, 2024. 85

SpyLoaded News / Osun Governance and Flyover Bridges: Omigbodun Goofed Again’ Information...« Last post by Miss Ifeoluwa on October 25, 2024, 11:59:43 AM »Osun Governance and Flyover Bridges: Omigbodun Goofed Again’ Information Commissioner The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi has faulted recent statement credited to a former governoship candidate, Mr Goke Omigbodun , describing his assertion on governance priorities and flyover bridges as lacking in facts and a mere parrotting of opposition talks. In a statement issued on Friday, the Commissioner who affirmed the rights of citizens to criticisise their government, cautioned against deliberate spreading of fake news, assumptions on false data and insinuation arising from half truths. “While it is not part of my mandate as the Honourable commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Osun state to join issue with a citizen or group of citizens over there political beliefs or comments no matter how belligerent. “I however, for the first time want to draw the attention of the innocent public, especially the people that are not readily familiar with Osogbo, to a misleading publication by an otherwise respected commentator in Osun state, in person of Architect Goke Omigbodun. Let me reiterate that, I have great respect for our referred Architect Omigbodun but that will not deter me from averring his mind to any of the areas where I believe his position is at variance with the reality on ground as it is in the instant case. This is necessary to avoid a pattern of persistence in error. “It is quite astonishing that, in an effort to discredit the building of flyovers by the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, the former governorship candidate published a statement which were full of factual errors amisdt underlying subtle jibes which are also based on false assumptions and disguised hatred for the current administration. “Before I address his illogical declaration on flyoers at Osogbo, I will first address his wrong suggestions on what the state government should have done as governance sectoral priorities. “First, he was wrong to have asserted that federal allocation inflow into Osun is five time fold compared to the time of previous government. This is a false statement not supported by frequently available data on allocations from the federation account that are available to the public. Aside parrotting opposition lies, the architect turned politician goofed. “ While there is an increase in allocation , it is not up to two fold talkless of five fold . Additionally, the value of current allocations has largely depreciated due to current inflationary and national rate crisis. We had thought the writer would read publicly available allocation table to educate himslef before putting that write up in place. “Secondly, with false note on huge allocations, he pontificated that the government should have paid up all accumulated salary and pension debt. As the premise was not factual, the expectation of the state paying all debt would imply shutting down other sectoral demands. Only a bad administrator will adopt that approach. The phased payment was endorsed by labour and the debt are being liquadated in progression. His sugggestion on agro investment was shocking not to say the least as he failed to acknowledge advances made by the Administration in the mechanisation of the agric sector. The commentator pretended as if he was not aware of recent tractor acquisition, first in the last 13 years ,ongoing agroprenueur programme, the cocoa and cashew initiative among others. In his fixation on flyovers, he overlooked massive road construction ongoing across the 30 local governments with some local government having as much as six kilometers, totalling almost 140 kilometer of roads already constructed. He pretended not to be aware of ongoing mass rehabilitation and upgrade of primary health centres with almost 100 completed out of almost 400. “Quite strange that he nothing to say about ongoing courageous mining reform including the breakthrough by the state daring Segilola Gold operators. The Administration targeted spending on education, sports, tourism, science and tech, energy, transportation, commerce and industry are conscious decisions to transorm the state economy. “It is particularly shocking that Mr Omigbodun repeated his earlier false statement that the state is doing nothing on energy generation and distribution. For his information, the state has finalized the legal and policy frameworks to create a state electricity market system, a regulatory agency to license generators and distributors of electricity. My dear Architect, a legal framework is required before investors can venture into offgrid and mini grids power generation and distribution. And we have acted so well on those requirements. Above are just to correct misrepresentation and misinformation spewed out by the former candidate. If he had been abreast of news publications and broadcast on sectoral developments in Osun , he would probably not have submitted those out of date and largely uninformed suggestions. Or is the Architect removing the garb of a public commentator to that of an opposition activist. The more ludicrous side of the piece was his postulation that, a flyover is more needed at Olaiya junction than at Oke-fia. He contested that there are more traffic jams at Olaiya junction than at Oke-fia. This postulation coming from the Architect is strange and far from the truth. Let me remind himt that, the traffic jams at Olaiya junction has been resolved by the Administration of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola by building four adjoining roads at Olaiya junction, leaving few vehicles to actually reach Olaiya junction, which are being controlled by the traffic lights. For the avoidance of doubt, the four roads are: 1.the adjoining road from Alekuwodo to Fakunle area that takes vehicles coming from Oke-fia/Alekuwodo axis directly to Fakunle area without getting to Olaiya junction; 2. The adjoining road from Asubiaro/Jaleyemi area to MDS area that takes vehicles coming from Jaleyemi to MDS directly to MDS without getting to Olaiya junction; 3. Adjoining road from MDS to Alekuwodo axis, that takes all vehicles coming from MDS to Alekuwodo axis without getting to Olaiya junction; 4.Adjoining road from Fakunle area to Jaleyemi area that takes vehicles vehicles coming from Ogoluwa/Fakunle area to Jaleyemi area without getting to Olaiya junction I made bold to state that all the four adjoining roads have taken away the majority of the vehicles away from Olaiya junction, making any assertion of traffic jam at Olaiya junction a ruse. On the other hand, the reverse is the case about Oke-fia junction. There's no adjoining roads that can take away any vehicles from Oke-fia junction, so all roads lead to Oke-fia junction, with the attendant traffic jams especially early in the morning and the evening time. For emphasis, let me take all the roads that lead to Oke-fia junction one after the other: 1.Lameco road: All vehicles coming from Lameco to Oke-fia usually encounter traffic jam starting from the front of the State High Court and it takes time before they maneuver their way to Oke-fia junction; 2. Dada Estate road: Vehicles coming from Dada Estate area usually start meeting the traffic jam around Customary Court area; 3. Dr Olu Alabi road: Vehicles coming from Olu Alabi/GRA road usually encounter traffic jams, starting from around the police pay office; 4.Old Garage/Rasco road: Vehicles coming from Old Garage usually encounter traffic jam, starting from the Rasco area; 5.Alekuwodo road: Vehicles coming from Alekuwodo going to Oke-fia usually encounter traffic jam from around the First bank. I repeat with emphasis and state that, vehicles from all the five major roads that meet at Oke-fia junction usually spend quality time from where they start experiencing traffic jam before they eventually get to Oke-fia junction. From the clear analysis above, it is crystal clear that, while there's heavy traffic jam at Oke-fia junction, the traffic jam at Olaiya junction has been permanently resolved before the last administration built the fly over there. So, with greatest respect to my referred Architect Omigbodun, his assertion that, the necessity for the flyover at Olaiya junction is greater than that of Oke-fia is borne out by sentiment and is at variance with the facts on ground. Let no man misconstrue my position, a flyover at Olaiya junction is also desirable because of the future challenges, but it has to be a flyover that is properly designed to meet such future challenges. Mr Omigbodun and other critics need to know that this administration has solid team of policy experts who are crafting and delivering branch and root reform of state governance under Mr Governor. The big and small viewpoints are combined under a localisation framework for the realisation of the five point agenda. In conclusion, let me state that, while I still hold Architect Goke Omigbodun in high esteem. But on this issue, Architect Goke Omigbodun got it wrong again. 88

A 15-year-old female secondary school student, Sandra Usman, was on Tuesday, remanded by a Chief Magistates’ Court in Akure, for allegedly stabbing her schoolmate, Habib Salau, aged 17, to death over a misunderstanding.
