Historiographically, the ancient city of Ile - Ife (the source of civilization and ancestral origin of the Yoruba people) will be thrown into festive mood as we celebrate the annual Olojo Festival, the beginning of a 'New Day and New Dawn'. Olojo is a festival attached to venerate and eulogize 'Ogun', the powerful, quintessential Yoruba deity of iron, truth, technology and  acclaimed pathfinder, who is also the father of modern day science.

The Yoruba cosmology affirms that in his divine power charted the way  for other gods in carrying out their numerous assignments on earth. Hence, Ogun is referred to as 'Olulana'. Olojo is a globally recognised festival being celebrated in Ile - Ife annually as the cradle of Yoruba race. It attracts people of diverse  culture and origin from within and outside Nigeria.

Osogun Adimula is the custodian, hero and living legend who doubles as the representative of Ogun (the god of iron) and an intermediary between the unseen and the living. His Eminence Oladapo Olafiranye is saddled with myriads of spiritual roles / duties ensuring that the prayers, supplications and requests through his master (Ogun) from the people are seamlessly transferred to Olodumare for His assent. He therefore prays for Ile -Ife, the nation (Nigeria), Africa, global communities and humanity in general for God's unending blessings, peace, prosperity, fruitfulness, longevity among others.

As we prepare for the year 2022 edition of Olojo Festival, we appeal to the general public to emulate the good character(as demonstrated by Ogun at origination), render support to our neighbours, abstain from violence and bad character. It is our fervent prayers that we will be guided always by Olodumare and Ogun (the god of iron) in our dealings as we celebrate many more of this festival with good health, happiness, sound mind/ body, abundant wealth and prosperity.
