Departmental Doctoral Scholarships at Maynooth University, Ireland

The Maynooth University is proud to announce the Departmental Doctoral Scholarships for outstanding students in Ireland. The applications are open for the academic session of 2022/2023.

The primary purpose of this programme is to support aspirants who want to undertake a research degree in October 2022. Worthy and needy applicants are eligible and can be awarded this €6,200 award and a fixed maintenance award of €10,000 [or €16,000] per annum.

Eligible Course or Subjects: Full-time research degree will be awarded in any subject offered by the university.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible, the applicants must meet all the following criteria:
Participation in Departmental activities as part of this scholarship is required to undertake teaching support duties for up to 240 hours per year, with generally no more than 4 hours in any one week. These activities will be carried out under the direction of the Head of Department or a member of staff nominated by the Head.

How to Apply: To be considered for this opportunity, students are required to take admission to the PhD degree programme at the university.

Research proposal (max. 4,000 words)

Admission Requirements:  Applicants must have a relevant first-class or 2.1 honor in their primary degree or have a relevant master’s degree.

Language Requirement: Students must have fluency in English, both written and spoken, as per Maynooth University’s general requirements.
