Inside Osogbo Novelty Match: Osun NSCDC, Twitter FC Play 1-1 Draw
 
The Osun Twitter FC and the football team of Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Osun State Command on Sunday, engaged in a friendly match.


It was a show of love and sportsmanship at the match which was played at Osogbo Grammar School playing ground on Sunday, had in attendance some young people from different walks of life.

The encounter provided Benson Adeyemi Foundation (BAF) to give free medical services for young people who were present at the Osogbo Grammar School main bowl.


Spectators at the field had opportunity to get themselves tested of some critical medical issues.


Speaking at the event, Head Coach of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command, Bankefa Olufemi, commended the organizer of the novelty match, adding that it will improve healthy living and promote harmonious relationships among residents of the State , most especially , young people.


He described the match as friendly and a display of spirit of sportsmanship.


Bankefa, who also benefitted from the medical outreach said, “I feel excited, I feel happy because today they make me to understand that I don’t have hepatitis
B and I was declared malaria-free. I really thank them (BAF) for that. I am very very
excited and happy for that”.

Temitope Oladejo, a programme officer with BAF explained that event was part of the organization’s drive to ensure quality and healthy living for Osun residents.


He said: “This is a testament to what the organization stands for and also to work with the Osun State Government in making sure that the lives of the people are well improved by having an overall healthy lifestyle. This is our own way of giving back to the society and we are also committed to the effort of the government”.


“Over 8 months we have been running different outreaches, we are always happy to contribute our quota to the state government when it comes to ensuring that people have a healthy lifestyle. Our key focus is to make sure people maintain a healthy lifestyle and we want to encourage people to frequently go for check ups,” he added.

Oluwatosin Adodo, one of the beneficiaries appreciated the organisers of the match and the BAF for the gesture.

He said, “I want to say a big thank you to BAF for the free medical service. This is truly commendable, and we appreciate the organization’s efforts in caring for people’s health.

The cracking encounter ended in 1-1 draw.
