Jerome Rothen, a former Paris Saint-Germain star, has given one major reason why Didier Deschamps, the head coach of France, will not select forward Kylian Mbappe to serve as the team's next captain.
Following Hugo Lloris' announcement earlier this week of his retirement from international football, Deschamps has yet to name his new Les Bleus captain.
As a result, there has been a lot of discussion about who Deschamps will choose to lead the 2018 FIFA World Cup winners in the future.
However, Rothen believes that Mbappe's excessive noise will prevent Deschamps from selecting him as France's next captain.
Mbappé would take over as Blues captain if I were in charge. On the football podcast Rothen s'enflamme (translated from French to English via Twitter), Rothen stated, "But knowing Didier Deschamps and his mode of operation, I think he will not put him as captain."
Why? because he makes a lot of noise.
