Paris Saint-Germain, a French club, has decided not to let Lionel Messi show off the World Cup trophy he won last month. Messi is a famous football player.

A possible backlash from fans prompted the club to make this decision.

On Wednesday, PSG plays Angers at the Parc des Princes in Ligue 1.

Messi will play in his first match since Argentina beat France in the World Cup final in Qatar in 2022.

According to Le Parisien, the club will not permit the 35-year-old to display the trophy on their home field, as is typically the custom for returning champions.

This occurs amid concerns regarding potential boos and whistles from PSG supporters.

The way Albiceleste goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez treated Kylian Mbappe before and after the final may cause French fans to mock Messi.

During Argentina's homecoming parade in Buenos Aires, Messi held a baby doll with Mbappe's face on it while he was standing next to Martinez.
