According to Mr Ikechukwu Ani, the head of press and public relations of the commission, 243,327 applications were received for Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) cadre. READ ALSO: Exclusive: How police live like “slaves” in Enugu community Others — 197,990 and 401,691 applicants — applied for the Inspector and Police Constable (PC) cadres respectively. Meanwhile, the commission is yet to select 500 cadet ASP, 500 cadet inspectors, 1,500 specialist officers and 7, 500 constables in accordance with the 10,000 policemen recruitment program. The recruitment is expected to strengthen the police personnel to tackle more security challenges. The exercise would close next Friday, on May 13.
