The workplace of the Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, at the State Secretariat, Osogbo, was gutted by flame on Monday.

Punch Newsassembled that the fire began from one of the aeration and cooling systems which was in the governor's office yet the governor was not inside when the fire began.

A source said the fire couldn't be put off promptly in light of the fact that the security entryways prompting the office couldn't be opened.

A putting out fires truck was seen stopped before the workplace when our reporter got to the scene.

The chief later said in an announcement that the fire was caused by control surge.

He stated, "The Office of the Governor of the State of Osun burst into flames on Monday evening. The fire occurrence was because of intensity surge which happened in one of the aeration and cooling systems inside the workplace.

"It is gladdening to take note of that not a solitary report or gear was decimated and no one was harmed. The fire for the most part influenced the workplace of the governor alone; no other office is influenced. It's anything but a genuine fire episode.

"It is unfortunate that the power providers have been constantly unfit to manage the supply of capacity to meet the fundamental standard. Numerous Nigerians have lost their property to control surge and other electrical failing."

The Commissioner for Police in Osun State, Fimihan Adeoye, later went to the scene around 7.30pm. He declined to allow meeting to columnists after he reviewed the scene.
