The authorities of the Nigerian Army have said the sporadic firing in Damaturu,  the Yobe State capital,  on Tuesday evening was the handiwork of an errant soldier.

The Army, which described the shooting  as “act of indiscipline”, added that the errant soldier had been arrested.
