Immediate past Director-General of NAFDAC, Dr. Paul Orhii, yesterday evening, Sunday, 15/10/2017, survived an automobile accident along the Lafia- Abuja Road. It was confirmed that an oncoming Madza Saloon car lost control and crashed into the Nissan Patrol SUV Dr. Othii was riding in, forcing it off the road into a deep ravine by the roadside. The accident is said to have happened at some point between Nassarawa Eggon and Akwanga in Nasarawa State, with no serious injuries or loss of life reported.

However, by a fortunate stroke of happenstance, immediate past Governor of Benue State, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Torwua Suswam had arrived at the scene of the accident minutes after it occurred.

According to NationalHelm, He was able to mobilise assistance to salvage the situation and also rushed Orhii to hospital for medical checks, after which they proceeded home to Abuja. Dr. Orhii was travelling back to Abuja after attending the wedding of a child of Tor Tiv, HRM James Ayatse last Saturday in Makurdi.
