According to TheNation, the approval coincided with the 5 October World Teachers' Day commemoration. He also raised the number of service years from 35 to 40. On Monday, during the celebration of World Teachers Day 2020, Buhari announced these in Abuja. Education Minister Adamu Adamu, representing Buhari, said the new pay structure is intended to encourage teachers to be more efficient and successful.
