President Muhammadu Buhari has given his approval to obtain stipends for Bachelor of Education students, as well as to grant them automatic jobs after graduation.

Education Minister Adamu Adamu, who represented President Buhari at the event in Abuja to mark World Teachers' Day, said this is now a policy of the Federal Government.

The President also guaranteed automatic jobs for educational students at universities and colleges of education upon graduation.

"It is now a government policy to pay stipends to Bachelor of Education students, as well as give them automatic jobs after graduation," he said.

The President has announced that the Tertiary Education Fund (TETFUND) will now fund teaching activities in the country's universities and colleges.

He also offered low-cost accommodation, among other items, for teachers in rural areas.
