Former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki, has a long road to travel before getting any form of bail.
Indication of this emerged Wednesday night during President Muhammadu Buhari’s maiden media chat.
Ibanga Isine, one of the interviewers had called the attention of the president to the fact that Dasuki, and the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, among others granted bail by the courts, were being denied bail by the federal government.
Reacting, Buhari said many Nigerians were yet to understand the “gravity of the crimes these people committed”.
His words: “A former president wrote to the Central Bank Governor and asked him to give this man N40billion.
“You want such person to get bail to go see a doctor in London. What kind of country do you think we are running?
“Go and tell that to the 2 million IDPs in North-East.
“The case remains in court and we are providing more evidences,” the President added.
