According to The PUNCH, it was reported that police fired indiscriminately in an attempt to disperse the demonstrators. At the Ola-Iya intersection, the protest triggered gridlock in Osogbo. It was discovered that in an effort to resist any attempt to stop the rally, the demonstrators pelted stones at the security operatives. The security operatives, who initially took shelter at the junction next to their Armoured Personnel Carriers, later fired indiscriminately to disperse the angry young people. Security operatives teargassed and fired indiscriminately in Abuja to disperse the demonstrators. The demonstrators were seen moving helter-skelter in a video that surfaced online. Some of them were heard shouting “they are shooting at us”, “don’t kill us with teargas”, “you must #EndSARS”. One of the protesters in Abuja, @BrianJDenis, tweeted, “Police officers have opened fire at us with live bullets at Central Area, Abuja. Some people are injured.”
