According to The Nation, the protestors took over the Alausa Secretariat expressway, which serves as a main route for commuters. On the ever-busy highway, hundreds of commuters were left stranded. The youths barricaded the highway, singing songs of unity that paralyzed vehicular and human movements and triggered road gridlocks. The demonstrators, bearing placards with different inscriptions, called for the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) over suspected civilians being abused and extrajudicially murdered.
