The Management of Federal Polytechnic, Offa in Offa Local Government Area of Kwara State on Friday said it had suspended two understudies of the organization, Tajudeen Selim and Temitope Omotosho, who were suspected to be cult members.

The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aminu Saleh, had on Tuesday declared the capture of Selim – the Vice President, Students Union Government of the polytechnic.

The CP, who talked through the order's Public Relations Officer, Mr. Ajayi Okasanmi, had additionally said Temitope Omotosho, Adewusi Vincent, Olanipekun Abimbola and another suspect, Ayomide Ololade, were likewise captured for their charged association in clique related exercises.

But Selim had denied the allegations, saying he was arrested at the scene where he had gone to make peace.

The management of the polytechnic, in a statement by the school’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Aroye, stated that before the students were paraded by the police, the institution had reported the incidence of forceful initiation of students to the police based on complaints to the institution.

He identified the police’s response and intervention to the issue as  responsible for the arrest.

Aroye stated, "The two speculated understudies (Selim and Omotosho) were suspended uncertainly pending the result of the police examination and further discoveries on the issue.

Adewusi Vincent, who was said alongside two others, has stopped to be an understudy of the establishment having been pulled back from the polytechnic since 2017 for poor execution."
