Management of Osun state university has shut down the school in the wake of tension generated by recent incidents in recent weeks.

The school has seen nearly three straight weeks of student deaths and arrest.

The latest is the shooting dead of two students by armed police officers.

The closure was as a result of the tense situation on campus as some group of students were said to be nursing grudge against the security operatives in the state over last Saturday incident in which two of them were shot over alleged internet fraud.

The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Labode Popoola, said the closure became necessary to allow frayed nerves to calm.

He said the students would be recalled back to school very soon.

The VC identified lack of hostel facilities for the student as the major reason for crises bedevilling the institution, saying that the way the students live off campus endangers their lives and subjects them to serious risks.
