The Federal Ministry of Health has released a memo to the Nigerian Medical Association to alert Nigerians on the high rate of kidney trafficking in Egypt.

The Director for Hospital services for the Ministry of Health, Dr Wapada I. Balami explained in the memo titled ”41 Suspected illegal human kidney traffickers on the trail in Egypt” that there is an increase in the illegal harvesting and transplanting of human organs in that country.

The memo was sent to alert Nigerians who intend to travel to Egypt for medical attention.
