An overnight fire on Thursday destroyed a shopping center in Osogbo's well-known Alekuwodo area.

According to information obtained by Adulawonews, the fire event occurred early on Thursday morning and damaged the one-story "Art Deco" structure at the Akindeko market.

It was gathered that the fire has been contained from spreading to adjoining stalls.

As at the time of filing this report, the cause of the inferno is yet to be ascertained.
